Workday Reporting and Analytics

Fewer reports, sharper answers.

Custom reports, dashboards, Discovery Boards, and Prism Analytics, set up so every leader reads the same numbers and nobody waits on an export.

Reporting work at Hazeberg grew out of years of AMS, where the same requests arrive every week, so we build the reports people keep opening and retire the ones nobody does.

  • Same numbers everywhere

Board, HR and finance reading one source

  • Answers without exports

    Questions settled inside Workday

  • Reports that stay current

Live data, checked before each release

  • Only what you should see

    Workday security on every report

Analytics capabilities

From the question asked to the decision made.

Most Workday setups don't lack reports. They have hundreds, built in a hurry, that nobody fully trusts. We start from the decisions people need to make, agree what each number means, and build from there.

Who it's built for

Three kinds of reader, one set of numbers.

A report only helps if the person reading it trusts it and can act on it. Here is what changes for each of them.

Leaders and executives

  1. Numbers the board can rely on

Headcount, cost and turnover defined once and reported the same way everywhere.

  2. Trends, not snapshots

Movement over months and years, not just today's total.

  3. Insights in plain language

Short written summaries that explain what changed and why it matters.

  4. Ready between meetings

Dashboards that read well on a phone.

The questions behind better business decisions

The questions leaders ask most, answered inside Workday

Good reporting starts with the questions people actually ask. These are the ones we hear most, grouped by the part of the business they come from

  • Workforce

    • How many people do we have, where, and in which roles?
    • Where is turnover highest, and who is leaving?
    • How has headcount moved against plan?
  • Pay and reward

    • Are we paying fairly across gender, level and location?
    • What does the workforce cost by department?
    • What did the last merit cycle actually cost?
  • Talent and skills

    • Which skills are we short of?
    • Who is ready for the next role?
    • Which teams carry the most flight risk?
  • Time and absence

    • Where is overtime climbing?
    • Which teams carry the most absence?
    • Are leave balances building into a liability?
  • Hiring

    • How long does it take to fill a role?
    • Which sources bring the best hires?
    • Where do candidates drop out?
  • Finance

    • Are we on budget this month?
    • Where is spend running ahead of plan?
    • What does each project really cost?

Questions

Questions we hear about Workday reporting and analytics.

  1. For most questions about data already in Workday, custom reports, dashboards and Discovery Boards are enough. Prism earns its place when you need data Workday doesn't hold, such as sales, operations or legacy history, analyzed alongside it. We'll tell you plainly which side of that line you're on.

  2. Usually because the definitions differ: who counts in headcount, the date a leaver drops off, which cost center a contractor sits in. Agreeing those definitions before anything is built is standard practice at Hazeberg, so the same question gets the same answer wherever it is asked.

  3. Yes, within limits you set. Discovery Boards and Worksheets let people explore live data, and Workday security keeps deciding what each person can see. We set up shared data sources and simple guidelines, so self-service doesn't turn into another pile of duplicate reports.

  4. Each Workday feature release can change the fields or data sources that custom reports depend on. Your critical reports are run against the new version during the preview period, and anything that shifts is fixed before the release goes live.

  5. Yes. Custom reports can be published as web services or delivered as scheduled extracts, so your warehouse or BI tool gets Workday data through a secured integration account instead of manual exports.
